From Sidelines to Satellite: Europe’s First Cloud-Based Football Broadcast with RTS RVOC

In live sports broadcasting, timing isn’t just important - it’s everything. When the action unfolds in real time, there’s no space for dropped signals or miscommunication. For the crew behind one of Poland’s top-tier football productions, keeping the entire team connected - from sideline cameras to remote graphics ops - was a non-negotiable priority.

That’s why ATM System, a division of ATM Grupa S.A., made a bold leap into the future. In June 2025, with the support of their longtime technology partner PAWLAKI Pro Audio, they became the first company in Europe to deploy RTS’s cloud-based communication solution, RTS Voice Over Cloud (RVOC). The project wasn’t just a test run. It was a full-scale, high-stakes production, and it had to work - flawlessly.

The hybrid setup connected RTS KP-Series keypanels at the stadium with mobile users running the RVOC Edge app and remote operators at ATM System headquarters. Communications were carried across Starlink satellite, 4G/5G, and Wi-Fi networks - maintaining seamless, crystal-clear audio throughout the broadcast. Even when a mid-match panel issue occurred, the system’s modular design allowed an instant switchover, ensuring uninterrupted crew communication.

By combining cloud-based flexibility with proven RTS hardware, ATM System achieved a cost-efficient, mobile-first workflow that redefined reliability in live broadcast communications. This milestone marks Europe’s first RVOC deployment, setting a new standard for cloud-enabled production.
